Touch a Truck Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Saturday, September 29, The Seany Foundation will join friends at Max’s Ring of Fire 4th Annual Touch a Truck event. Come visit Emily and Amy Robins at The Seany Foundation’s booth at Qualcomm Stadium and decorate a card to send to the young cancer patients at Rady Children’s Hospital!

Kids Thirsty to Help Other Kids

Twin Cousins Hunter and Daniel Greenspan (6.5 like Noah) joined Noah and Talia (4.5) Baird in Carslbad, CA. They raised money and donated earnings to TSF!

This summer, our good friend Noah Baird, hosted another lemonade stand. And once again, he donated a portion of profits to The Seany Foundation, to help kids who are battling cancer. This time, he enlisted his cousins who were visiting from NY.

Complete with an ipod and speakers, their lemonade stand attracted the attention of drivers-by (mostly due to the wonderful dancing accompanying the music). The Seany Foundation salutes Noah and his growing gang of lemonade sellers for their continued support in the battle against pediatric cancer! Way to go, kiddos!

Thank You, Sponsors!

Thank you to all those who sponsored a teen for this year’s Twilight Night! Thanks to you, we reached our goal of 100 tickets sponsored through Seany’s Sponsor-a-Kid (and Family) Program. Over 80 attendees from local hospitals (teens and their families) shared the theater with another 100 Seany supporters who came out for the fun! Click on the image below to read all about it. SOMBFAB Awards Guardian Angels

Yesterday, Amy Robins, Co-founder of The Seany Foundation, was pleasantly surprised to be presented with the “Guardian Angels Award” from the young cancer patient and siblings’ support group Some of My Best Friends Are Bald.

This past year, The Seany Foundation invited SOMBFAB members to walk the red carpet at Seany Movie Nights, free-of-charge. Several of its members also enjoy using The Seany Room in the oncology wing of Rady Children’s Hospital, a space dedicated to teens and young adults.

The Seany Foundation is honored to receive the Guardian Angels Award and would also like to wish SOMBFAB a very happy 21st anniversary! Kudos to fellow 2011 Guardian Angel Award recipients Aldo Sabino, Carmen Delgadillo from Friends of Scott, and Gary Schneider.

Seany Releases New Ewing’s Sarcoma PSA

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and The Seany Foundation is striving to bring some very much needed attention to some little known diseases.  As research money comes trickling down the cancer heirarchy, these rarer pediatric cancers are often overlooked.  This gives us all the more reason to make some noise about them.  Find out a little bit more about Ewing’s sarcoma, the type of bone cancer that Sean battled for nearly 7 years:

Becky Baird and Kids on Stage Productions Theatrical Workshop

On May 23, Steven Glickman, star of Nickelodeon’s hit show Big Time Rush, taught a performance workshop to over 30 kids ages 8-18.  The special class raised over $400 for The Seany Foundation.  Thank you, Becky and friends!

Kristie Schaufele and the San Diego Rock’n’Roll Marathon

A special thanks to Kristie, a mom of 3, wife, and Director of Operations for Tutorial Services, who generously sought out sponsors for her upcoming race.  Kristie is raising money online through Firstgiving.com.  Be sure to cheer her on during the world-renowned marathon on June 6.  You, too, can set up your own Fundraising page to benefit The Seany Foundation.  Just email [email protected] to ask us how!

Geek Squad Visits Seany Room

IMG_2962

On Friday, April 2, Best Buy’s Geek Squad made an appearance at the new Patient Care Pavilion at Rady Children’s Hospital to meet with Seany Foundation CAO Amy Robins for a walk-thru of what will soon be the Seany Teen Room in the new oncology wing.

Our new favorite geeks were scouting out the location to plan exactly what kind of goodies they’ll be donating for use in the activity center.  Conversations included thoughts on Mac vs. PC, iPod stations, and speaker and flat screen TV options.  With the Seany Teen Room scheduled to open on time this summer, both The Seany Foundation and our friends at Best Buy are very excited about all the possibilities.

More updates on the progress of the teen room coming soon…
