Swinging for Seany Charity Golf Tournament wins big for Seany’s Camp Reach for the Sky!
Thank you to all the participants and attendees of The Seany Foundation’s 4th Annual Swinging for Seany Charity Golf Tournament on May 5, 2014. The event was a huge success!
About 85 golfers enjoyed the all-day golf tournament at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe. The fun-filled event was topped off with delicious cocktails and a buffet meal.
Congratulations to the golf tournament winners: Mark Armstrong, Lance DeGrazier, Clinton Mains and Neilray Ochoa.
Contests for exciting prizes, such as a Las Vegas Trip and a brand-new Jaguar kept players cheering on the golf course. Inside the clubhouse, guests competed for the hot live auction item: a Padres Night Out item, which included four field-level tickets to a San Diego Padres game at PETCO Park, a $100 Tilted Kilt gift certificate for dinner and a one-night stay for two at the gorgeous four-star Omni San Diego Hotel!
Attendees were also treated with a heartwarming video about The Seany Foundation’s programs, as well as a touching speech by the mother of a young camper, who explained the wonderful impact Camp Reach for the Sky has had on her family.
At the end of the day, guests at the Swinging for Seany charity golf event raised $85,752 for Seany’s Camp Reach for The Sky, The Seany Foundation’s free camping adventure for local kids affected by cancer.
From the entire Seany Foundation team, we thank you for your support and interest in all of our events! Please stay tuned for exciting updates throughout our camp season to learn how we’re helping make a difference in Southern California.
We hope to see you at our next big event: the 7th Annual Everything is Possible Celebration on Saturday, October 17!

On Monday, May 20, approximately 100 guests attended the 3rd Annual Swinging for Seany Charity Golf Tournament at the Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. KUSI got the exclusive from Co-Founder Mitch Robins in the early morning as the clouds parted and made way for a beautifully, sunny day out on some of the best greens in San Diego. Special guests included sports celebrities Kris Dielman, Chris McAlister, Tre McLeod, Jim Trotter, Jermaine Dye, and Scott Shields.
Golfers competed in fun contests for exciting prizes such as a stay at Wynn Las Vegas, and enjoyed a relaxing cocktail hour, silent and live auctions, awards dinner, and opportunity drawing. Congratulations to our Lowest Team Score winners, pictured below:
Perhaps the most touching moments of the day included speeches from Sean’s sister, Emily, and Camp Reach for the Sky camper and cancer survivor, Oscar. The Seany Foundation also proudly announced that, in 2014, the American Cancer Society will pass the torch to The Seany Foundation as the funding organization for Camp Reach for the Sky, a free summer camp for kids with cancer and their siblings. Proceeds raised at this year’s golf tournament will help send patients and their siblings to camp next year.
Special thanks to our sponsors: University Compounding Pharmacy, Eddy Pump, Alfonsi Railroad, Porsche of San Diego, Pure Flo, MLA Foundation, Terri Yurek Insurance, Barona Resort & Casino, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

This summer The Seany Foundation proudly sponsored “Seany’s Corner” at the American Cancer Society’s summer camp program known as Camp Reach for the Sky. The camp allows children with cancer the chance to be kids – an experience often taken away or put on hold by their disease – and gives them a fun summer camping adventure while under medical supervision.
“Seany’s Corner” offered a refuge for kids who preferred to participate in more low-key or less physically demanding outdoor activities, providing numerous arts and crafts projects. On July 4, Seany Co-founder Amy Robins and Board Member Amy Schneider visited camp. Here are a few photos of some of the happy campers:
