Understanding Cancer in AYA

AYA = Adolescents and Young Adults

One of the reasons cancers in adolescents and young adults is so difficult to treat is because it’s just that: cancer in adolescents and young adults. The amazing transition from childhood to adulthood poses great challenges for cancer treatments in this particular stage of life. According to Dr. Brian Hayes-Lattin, “More than 72,000 adolescents and young adults (ages 15 to 39) learn they have cancer each year in the United States, a number up to seven times larger than the number diagnosed under the age of 15.” For more on why The Seany Foundation is concerned about improving treatments for teens and young adults, read the full NCI Cancer Bulletin article.

Thank You, Sponsors!

Seany Seeks Movie Night Sponsors

Seany Movie Night Sponsorships
Mixing business with pleasure to do good for local kids

Fighting pediatric cancer is serious business. That’s why The Seany Foundation needs help from you and other local businesses in sponsoring a fun-filled movie night for local kids with cancer. In return, your business will receive the positive publicity needed to keep your business booming.

The next Seany Movie Night will be hosted at Ultra Star Cinemas at Poway on July 14. Children and teens with cancer from local hospitals and their families will receive tickets for the special viewing of a blockbuster film before it premieres nationwide. Moviegoers also dress up as their favorite characters to compete for exciting contest prizes! Best of all, thanks to you—and sponsors like you—tickets and snacks for the kids and their families are free!

Seany Movie Nights are truly magical events. Be a part of the magic and your business will receive exposure for its support of local children and their families, as well as allow these sick kids to spend an evening away from their hospital rooms and in the company of precious family members, friends, and supporters like you.
