Celebration 2012 Raises Over $100K

On Saturday, October 13, over 100 guests gathered at the Del Mar Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, for The Seany Foundation’s 5th Annual Everything Is Possible Celebration. The landmark event was our best yet, raising over $100,000 for childhood cancer research and patient care programs. During the event, donors helped TSF achieve its millionth dollar raised since fundraising efforts began in 2007!

Guests enjoyed delicious cocktails, live music by Palter Ego, a silent/live auction with exciting prizes, and a gourmet meal. In recognition of her ongoing dedication to the fight against childhood cancer, Ms. Lori Iaquinta received the Seany Community Service Award.

The evening’s highlights included a special ballroom dance demo by Kurt Popp and a special announcement by co-founder Mitch Robins that TSF had raised its millionth dollar to-date. Many guests left the clubhouse that evening with their arms full of goodies. The champagne drawing winner took home a new iPad, opportunity drawing winners took home gift certificates, and winning bidders took home hot items ranging from a Hawaiian vacation to his and hers snowboards.

The Seany Foundation would like to thank the following sponsors for making the event possible: Alfonsi Railroad; Barona Resort & Casino; CustomerCentricSelling; Dr. John Smoot; Eddy Pump; Kleinfelder; Lockton Insurance; Medical Center Pharmacy; Nikolai and Maria Tankovich; Terry and Janice Tervort; Variety, the Children’s Charity of Southern California; and WJ Bradley. Touch a Truck Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Saturday, September 29, The Seany Foundation will join friends at Max’s Ring of Fire 4th Annual Touch a Truck event. Come visit Emily and Amy Robins at The Seany Foundation’s booth at Qualcomm Stadium and decorate a card to send to the young cancer patients at Rady Children’s Hospital!

Kids Thirsty to Help Other Kids

Twin Cousins Hunter and Daniel Greenspan (6.5 like Noah) joined Noah and Talia (4.5) Baird in Carslbad, CA. They raised money and donated earnings to TSF!

This summer, our good friend Noah Baird, hosted another lemonade stand. And once again, he donated a portion of profits to The Seany Foundation, to help kids who are battling cancer. This time, he enlisted his cousins who were visiting from NY.

Complete with an ipod and speakers, their lemonade stand attracted the attention of drivers-by (mostly due to the wonderful dancing accompanying the music). The Seany Foundation salutes Noah and his growing gang of lemonade sellers for their continued support in the battle against pediatric cancer! Way to go, kiddos!

Summer Heats Up!

This summer The Seany Foundation proudly sponsored “Seany’s Corner” at the American Cancer Society’s summer camp program known as Camp Reach for the Sky. The camp allows children with cancer the chance to be kids – an experience often taken away or put on hold by their disease – and gives them a fun summer camping adventure while under medical supervision.

“Seany’s Corner” offered a refuge for kids who preferred to participate in more low-key or less physically demanding outdoor activities, providing numerous arts and crafts projects. On July 4, Seany Co-founder Amy Robins and Board Member Amy Schneider visited camp. Here are a few photos of some of the happy campers:

Obama Signs “Creating Hope Act”

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! President Obama recently signed legislation into law that will offer incentives to pharmaceutical companies to develop new drugs to treat childhood cancers. The “Creating Hope Act” came to fruition in large part due to advocates at Kids v. Cancer and other charities sharing our similar missions. It’s one big step in the right direction!
