Amy G. Robins, RDH
Chief Administrative Officer, Board of Directors Secretary- The Seany Foundation
In 1978, she received her BS degree in Dental Hygiene, from the University of Michigan
and has been practicing her profession continuously ever since.
In 1991, Amy and her husband Mitch moved their 3 children cross-country to San Diego.
Raising her children and working in dentistry part-time filled Amy's days with activity
and contentment until her middle child, Sean, was suddenly diagnosed with cancer
in March 2000. From that day until his death on November 17, 2006, Amy worked to
balance Sean's medical and psycho/social care with raising her young daughter, Emily,
and encouraging her oldest son, Alex, as he began college life.
When Sean passed away, Amy co-founded The Seany Foundation with her husband Mitch.
The idea came from Sean himself-- out of his frustration with the inadequacies of
current medical research and treatment. The inspiration came from the persistent
battle that Sean and his family waged against Ewing's sarcoma for nearly 7 years.
Today, as Chief Administrative Officer of The Seany Foundation, Mrs. Robins works
hard to keep her sights focused on Sean's dream of pushing pediatric cancer research
forward, teaching people about the reality of these diseases, and making a difference
in the lives of children and teens with cancer. With a special interest in the AYA
(Adolescents and Young Adults) with pediatric cancers, she hopes to focus more on
the special needs of this group in the future.
