Harlan L. Lansky
President, Seany Records
Writer/Producer- EMI Music
Seany Records President, Harlan Lansky, has created, produced and marketed many
albums throughout his career that have generated millions of dollars in revenue
for such companies as EMI, Sony, and Warner Bros. Records. Mr. Lansky, an accomplished
musician himself, has been a recording artist for Casablanca Records and MCA Records.
He also holds an impressive business background in the music industry, as a former
vice president/general manager of Soulpower Productions. During his five-year tenure
at Soulpower, Harlan helped guide the company's presence in the U.S., by working
with well-known artists such as Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, and
Monica. In 1999, Mr. Lansky founded Matrix Musicworks, where he discovered many
new recording artists, such as Reeve Carney, who has just released his debut CD
on Interscope Records, and Brie Larson, who is preparing for her second release
on Universal Records. Harlan managed a staff of writers and producers at the company's
two private recording studios. While directing Matrix Musicworks, he was also President
of InVision Records, whose flagship artist was Ray Charles. Inspired by Sean's passion
for music and keen perception into the music industry, Harlan first proposed the
idea of Seany Records to Mitch Robins in 2008, with the hope of increasing awareness
for pediatric cancers. Concurrently, Mr. Lansky holds the position of staff writer/producer
at EMI Music.
